Granted, this is the first video security camera I have owned, but I was incredibly pleased with this buy. Our goal for shopping for was to use it as a infant monitor. The mixture microphone, IR night vision, and full color (although the colors are a small off) visible light, and price ($25!) was a great mixture for our purposes. It supplies a secure and interference no cost (not to mention low-priced) option to the wireless systems. A drawback in comparison to a traditional baby monitor is that it is not as portable.
I bought a RF modulator in combination with this camera and back fed the video/audio into our home's coax lines so that the feed could be watched on some old NTSC televisions in the master bedroom and the family room. Belkin RF Modulator ( F8V3063 )

The focus is tight (40 degree field of view, which is pretty normal for non wide angle units) and the two I received do have microphones. The night vision is ok with the built in illumination. But as has been stated the plastic housing and base are flimsy and it is difficult to lock them down with any sort of precision aiming. They will perform fine for my wants.
