This camera was the very best night vision for this price tag range. It is definitely does have a night vision range of around 45 ft outside may well not be that clear at 45 ft but you can nevertheless make out shapes of people. Most camera a boast night vision in total darkness but what you get is night vision that functions decent only in and enclose space, where the infrared LED are able to reflect around the space. There are no blind spots for the night vision close to the edges, it is fairly great with no other light supply. But with a security light for a driveway, exactly where i placed mines, the image is close to daylight picture good quality. I also ordered 100 ft Video power Siamese BNC RCA cable for CCTV Security Cameras CBV100 1JE from the warehouseseller merchant. Great camera for night vision.
I actually like this camera! I bought two of these at $64.99, and in retrospect it was a fantastic value.
The picture is extremely clear, and the color good quality is rather fine. This is a wide angle camera, and two of them cover my entire front yard fully (about 40 feet deep by 75 feet wide). Detail is sacrificed a bit for the wide angle, but the 540 line resolution assists make up for that.
They are nice and low-profile, unobtrusive, but noticeable to somebody who would be looking for them. The mounting process is a small difficult to get aimed properly, but once you have it locked down, it is there to remain!
A single negative, the beamwidth of the IR illumination does not cover the complete view of the cam, so you end up with a vivid circle in the middle of the image when in nightvision mode. In my application I feel supplemental IR illumination will be crucial.
Other than that, I can extremely advocate this camera.
