I bought these to put on our back sliding doors so I'd know when the children went outside. I love the chime feature, its loud sufficient to hear through most of the house. They go on so simply, and are inexpensive. The alarm function is LOUD...so they'd function great for that goal, also. There is also an off switch, so that's good.
I read the other evaluations just before posting this one particular. In the 1st overview, the poster stated the alarm was loud sufficient to hear, in most of the residence. I feel that is a perfectly accurate statement.
The reason, I'm only giving these alarms an common rating (3 star) is mainly because I want to be able to hear an alarm all through all the whole residence! I want the alarm to be loud enough to wake me in a dead sleep, from the other side of the property! I want an intrusion alarm to be loud sufficient to wake my neighbors (and there is NO way these alarms will)!
The package claimed the alarms had been 120 db. As somebody who is familiar with decibels, I can guaranty these alrms are NOWHERE close to 120 db!
